What is bonding?
Bonding is a form of filling placement using a tooth colored material (composite) that adheres to the tooth. Since amalgam (silver) fillings are only used rarely, most fillings are bonded to the teeth.  Cosmetic Bonding is used to change shapes and colors of teeth.
 

Are bondings strong ?
Bondings are strong fillings in most areas of the mouth. In some cases, when a bonding is large, it can be fragile with hard foods. In these cases a crown might be a better choice for restoration.
